This page sets out the rules we hold ourselves to when publishing. It sits alongside Our Sources & Method, which explains where our information comes from.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made independently of commercial relationships. Specifically:
- Whether a tool has an affiliate program does not determine whether we cover it.
- Commission rates do not affect how a tool is presented, positioned, or ordered in any list.
- We do not accept payment for inclusion, for a favourable write-up, or for placement in a shortlist.
- We do not publish sponsored posts presented as editorial content.
What we will and won’t claim
We distinguish between two kinds of statement, and we treat them differently:
- Checkable facts — price, plan limits, whether a feature exists, which integrations are supported. We state these plainly, source them to the vendor’s own page, and date them, because you can verify them yourself.
- Judgement calls — whether something is easy to use, how responsive support is, real-world performance or deliverability. These can only be established by using a product. Where we haven’t, we either attribute the claim to the vendor by name or leave it out. We do not write a vendor’s marketing language into our own voice.
Ratings
We do not publish star ratings, scores, or user-review counts. Those require either sustained hands-on use or a body of collected user reviews, and we have neither. We would rather show you the numbers and let you decide than invent a score.
How our content is produced
Our guides are produced using an AI-assisted editorial workflow that gathers, organises and cites publicly available product information into a consistent format. We say so openly rather than implying a process we don’t follow. What we commit to is that every factual claim traces to a citable public source, and that the limits of the method are stated on the page rather than hidden.
Keeping content current
Software pricing changes often and without notice. Every guide displays the date its information was compiled. That date is the honest limit of what we can tell you — always confirm current pricing on the vendor’s own site before you buy.
